General Information
What is the Nikon gear borrowing facility?
The Nikon gear borrowing facility allows registered participants to borrow selected Nikon mirrorless camera bodies and lenses free of charge for the duration of a PhotoWalk Nepal photowalk. This initiative is designed to give photographers hands-on experience with Nikon equipment in real shooting environments.
Who can borrow Nikon gear?
Any participant who is registered for a PhotoWalk Nepal photowalk may request to borrow Nikon gear. Gear availability is limited and provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
Registration & Availability
How do I request Nikon gear?
Participants interested in borrowing Nikon gear must complete an online gear borrowing registration form. The registration link will be shared in the individual photowalk announcement along with the list of available camera bodies and lenses.
When should I register?
Gear borrowing registration opens when the photowalk announcement is published. Early registration is recommended, as gear availability is limited.
Is gear guaranteed once I register?
Submitting the registration form does not automatically guarantee gear availability. Confirmation will be provided separately based on availability and registration order.
Gear Usage & Responsibility
How long can I borrow the gear?
Borrowed Nikon gear may be used only for the duration of the photowalk and must be returned immediately after the walk or at a time specified by the organizers.
Can I take the gear home?
No. Borrowed gear must remain within the photowalk duration and location. Taking gear outside the event is not permitted.
Am I responsible for the borrowed gear?
Yes. Participants are fully responsible for the borrowed equipment while it is in their possession. This includes safe handling, protection from damage, loss, or theft.
What happens if the gear is damaged or lost?
In the event of damage, loss, or theft, the participant will be responsible for repair or replacement costs as determined by Nikon Nepal.
Handling & Ethical Use
Are there any usage restrictions?
Borrowed gear must be used responsibly and ethically. Unsafe handling, misuse, or use in prohibited areas may result in immediate withdrawal of the equipment.
Can I change lenses or settings?
Yes. Participants are encouraged to explore and use the gear normally, including changing lenses and camera settings, while following safe handling practices.
During the Photowalk
When and where will I receive the gear?
Gear distribution details (time and location) will be shared with confirmed participants before or at the start of the photowalk.
Do I need to bring anything?
- You have to bring your own memory card.
- You have to present a government issues valid photo ID at the time of gear collection.
Important Notes
- Gear availability may vary for each photowalk
- Not all participants may receive their first choice of equipment
- PhotoWalk Nepal reserves the right to modify or cancel gear borrowing for any event
